So beautiful Rae! St. Francis De Sales talks a lot about bees in his writings and when I really started to understand the true Beauty of God’s design for the bees.
Today my youngest son sent me a pic of himself as his detachment Color Sergeant, telling me it reminded him of when he carried the US flag into Chartres at the end of the 2019 pilgrimage.
It brought back many memories of that pilgrimage - which took place the year that Notre Dame burned, and ended on the 75th anniversary of D-Day, in which my late father served in the US Army Medical corps.
My son, Campion, was preparing to enter the Marine Corps later that summer. Young and strong, he carried the 48-star flag for most of those 3 strenuous days - often running with it over the hills and forested paths of France.
Today, my son is deployed to Eastern Europe. Please say an Ave for his protection - moral, physical, and spiritual.
I'm very happy to hear that the bees survived. I hope we do too.

As always, just lovely, Doc. I had no idea about the bees of Notre Dame, nor of Brother Adam. Thank you for the edification and your reflections.
This is beautiful.
