After 20 years as a psychiatrist, I am more convinced than ever that the rise in depression, anxiety, and mental illness in general in our society is due to deprivation of the human soul of what is true, good, and beautiful and vast overexposure to falsehoods, depravity, and ugliness.
The pathway to authentic joy is obstructed by 24/7 news cycle of calamity and controversy and the stress of living in an overly technological modern society.
In order to reclaim joy, we must first re-route our thoughts away from patterns of distorted thinking that impede our pursuit of joy awhile infusing our minds with the pure goodness of truth and beauty in order to create a fertile ground in which joy can flourish.
The path to joy is a continuous journey that takes us within the deepest part of ourselves to find what is authentically human, yet it also leads us to transcend our brokenness as human beings to find joy in ourselves and our relationships with others.
I’d be honored if you joined me as I lead you on this path of healing and rebuilding a foundation for joy to flourish in your life through the pursuit of what is true, good, and beautiful.

There are souls in this world who have the gift of finding joy everywhere, and leaving it behind them when they go. – Frederick William Faber
God bless you Dr. Rae! My wife and I have a serious distrust of medical professionals having a combined 50+ years invested in the field ourselves. Although I have not met you, I have followed you on Twitter for some time now and I count you among the very few that I do trust.
Looking forward to reading more. I am thrilled to see a psychological viewpoint that focuses on virtue.
